The Jacobs | Wedding Day

Meet the Jacobs!!

We had the honor of capturing both photo and video for Cassie and Josh’s special day!

Before these two made it down the aisle, their story began on the campus of Mississippi State University. Don’t be fooled, Cassie was actually the one who secured the title of girlfriend for herself. She asked Josh if he was going to ask her to be his girlfriend or not. The rest was history!! The two have been together almost 5 years!

In this season of life, Cassie and Josh enjoy many activities together. Their favorites include cooking together, working on their new house, and hanging out with their pup, Sage!! (Look at their engagement pics to see just how cute sweet Sage is!! 🐶🐶🐶)

I mean… how cute is Sage?!?!

Cassie and Josh’s special day took place on February 12, 2022 at Mallord’s Croft in Byhalia, MS. Their vendors’ list was nothing short of amazing!! We might be biased, but both video and photos were done by Feather Stone Weddings. The BIG TICKET ITEM, the dress, was purchased at Maggie Louise in Collierville, TN. Of course Cassie had a glam squad; both hair and makeup were done by Halo Salon. I think we can all agree that Cassie looked absolutely stunning!! To add to an already beautiful day, the flowers were by Betts Made. The wedding cake was from Donna’s cakes and the caterer was Pink Flamingo. To keep the fun going, the couple invited the Soul Shockers to help the guests get down on the dance floor!!

When I asked the couple what their best wedding planning tip they said:

“Get a wedding planner- S/O to Betts Made. Also, don’t stress about the small things and just enjoy the day!! :)”

We are so thankful to have been such a small part of Cassie and Josh’s special day!! We wish them the very best!!

p.s we would be glad to take photos of Sage anytime!! WE LOVE HER!!!

Sarah + Drew | Engagement Session

Hi everybody!

We wanted to introduce you to one of our couples; meet Sarah and Drew!

Sarah and Drew will be married this upcoming June at Castle Hill in Oxford, MS.

But let’s talk about their engagement session because it’s not your typical engagement session!!! We actually had the privilege of flying to DALLAS, yes DALLAS!!

Since we got to spend just a little bit on time with Sarah + Drew, we wanted to hear their story!!

I asked Sarah and Drew how they met. Would you believe me if I said Sarah made the first move and their relationship started because of their love of a nice cold Blue Moon?!?!

Sarah added a little tip for the ladies saying  “Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, you may end up marrying the guy!”

The two have been together 6 1/2 years and feel as though they grew up together. From adolescence to adulthood, navigating the highs and lows of college, and moving to a new city after graduation to start a new career, these two have been by each other’s side the entire time.

But let’s get to the proposal…. It was almost spoiled!!

Sarah and Drew are still very close with their college friends and each year they take a beach trip all together! Just like everybody else, this group picks one night to get dressed up and take those “golden hour” beach photos!! (DREAMYYYY!!!!) This particular night their friends were “running behind” so Sarah and Drew headed down to the beach to wait for them there, but instead of just waiting, Sarah was surprised with a beachside picnic setup with a blanket, rose petals, and champagne.

BUT before they could make it down to the beach, the security guard approached the two and asked “Has the engagement already happened?” Little did he know, this was the couple and the engagement was about to take place! Sarah admitted that her eyes darted down to Drew’s pocket to see if she could spot a ring box, but she didn’t see anything! CRISIS AVERTED! Sarah actually thought she was about to witness someone else’s engagement!

Sarah and Drew continued on towards the beach where Sarah saw the setup and quickly realized what was happening! She mentioned that Drew took her hands and had a whole speech prepared, but the entire time all she could think was “get down on your knee and propose already, I can’t take the buildup!”

After Sarah said yes, their friends who were “running behind” jumped out from behind the bushes and cheered for the newly engaged couple!

I asked Sarah and Drew what their best wedding planning tip would be for future couples.

“Don't stress over the details! Weddings take up a lot of time, energy and money. If it starts affecting your and/or fiance's mental health, it's time to slow down and remind yourself what's really important. For us, it was the venue, band, food and alcohol that mattered most, as well as being surrounded by loved ones. We want our guests to have fun above anything else, and the little details won't make or break that.”

This is a great tip to really remind couples to do what is best for you and enjoy being engaged!! However, the two are looking forward to building a family together and also getting the spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.

We are so thankful that we get to be such a small piece of Sarah and Drew’s big day! June 25th can’t come fast enough!!

Claire + Patrick | Engagement Session

Meet Claire + Patrick!

From meeting on a dating app, an ice storm , and finally the engagement photos, this couple definitely knows how to make the most of every situation!!

We had the best time at y’all’s engagement session and couldn’t wait any longer to share these photos!!

Claire and Patrick met on Hinge (how cute!!) and after a couple of weeks Patrick decided it was time to take Claire on a nice date! He made reservations to Hen House, which happened to be one of Claire’s favorite restaurants, and the two shared their first date together on March 12, 2021!

Fast forward just a little over a year to February 5, 2022, the day of the proposal! However, in true Memphis fashion, the weather had to take a turn!! IT WAS A LEGIT ICE STORM!!! Patrick had planned to propose to Claire at the Dixon in Memphis, Tn, but had to make a quick decision because of the weather! Patrick could’ve postponed the proposal but he didn’t want to hold onto the ring any longer!! Claire’s family flew in from Texas and Oklahoma just before the storms and were ready!! The proposal was on, despite the crappy weather, and instead of the Dixon, Patrick moved it to Claire’s parents backyard!!

“The diversion was still an event at the Dixon, but when he picked me up from my apartment and starting driving to my parents, I knew something was up. I walked in to a rose lined path outside with a rose petal heart. Patrick proposed with our immediate families watching and it was the perfect intimate moment, despite a change in plans! We then had a party surrounded by our closest family and friends.”

How sweet is that…. to take an unplanned ice storm and use it to create a very intimate proposal with their closest family and friends!!

However, Claire had her heart set on using the Dixon for something, so of course, it was only fitting that we shoot their engagement session there!! It was the perfect timing; the tulips had just bloomed and were so beautiful!!

Claire and Patrick are so excited to be in this phase of life together!

“Since this is a busy time, we like to take moments of relaxation by cooking together, walking the dog at the park, or checking out local coffee trucks on Saturday mornings!”

The two shared their best wedding planning tip:

In every decision, think about your why! It can be easy to get caught up in the small details of wedding planning, but it has helped us to always take a step back when making decisions and see the big picture. Also, we are so thankful we hired a wedding planner! Planning a wedding can feel like a full time job, so we are grateful we hired help to take some of the stress away.

As they move through this season of engagement, Claire and Patrick are looking forward to the things married life has to offer like: living together and enjoying day to day life with each other, traveling, laughing, and continuing to make memories together as Mr. and Mrs. Evetts!!

We are so excited to be apart of Claire and Patrick’s special day!! Claire and Patrick will be married on October 29, 2022 at Orion Hill in Arlington, TN!

The Koleinis | Wedding Day

The Kolenis | A Day Full of Love and Traditions

The Feather Stone Wedding Team had the PRIVILEGE of being a part of Katie + Kasra’s special day on November 6, 2021.

Katie + Kasra’s ceremony and reception were both held at the Dixon Gallery located in Memphis, TN. But their story obviously began long before their wedding day, to be more specific 12 years before!

The two met through mutual friends and began working together at YMCA, until Kasra was fired for missing a shift… but he missed his shift to take Katie to a movie! Do we count that as a win or a loss?!?! Staying friends all throughout high school and college, their relationship blossomed into something deeper their senior year at the University of Memphis.

The engagement was nothing short of a sweet intimate moment. Katie always wanted something intimate between the two of them and Kasra planned just that. They got engaged in their favorite place, Memphis and then shared a private dinner at their favorite restaurant. After their intimate celebration, their family and friends surprised them with a small party.

Quickly approaching 6 months of marriage, these newlyweds have had a lot of exciting changes. First, the two adopted a tiny furry friend, Huey, their kitten. They enjoy taking pictures and videos of Huey to send to each other. Second and the biggest change of all, Katie and Kasra are moving to New York City in just a few short weeks. While they are very excited about the move and the opportunities, they know they will be back in Memphis before long!

Now let’s get back to talking about their special day!!

Katie + Kasra’s wedding day was November 6, 2021 at the Dixon Gallery in Memphis, TN. Their vendors’ list was nothing short of amazing!! We might be biased, but photos were done by Feather Stone Weddings. The big ticket item, the dress, was purchased at Maggie Louise in Collierville, Tn. Of course, Katie had a glam squad; Katie hired Beauty by Burgess and let’s just say, Katie looked stunning! To add to an already beautiful day, the flowers were by Lynn Doyle! Both the wedding cake and the groom’s cake were from Frost Bakery and the catering was Park & Cherry and Hog Wild. Last but not least, the band was Gary Escoe with Crescent Moon Entertainment!

When I asked Katie + Kasra if they had any advice for future couples, they said their biggest piece of advice for wedding planning is to do what is best for you as a couple. you will receive 1,000 pieces of advice from just about everybody, but making sure to keep each other at the center is the most important. In addition, The other thing they said is that when you merge two families, there’s a good chance you can’t make everyone happy.

“We did our best to make our wedding reflect the two of us as a couple with different cultural backgrounds. I wouldn’t change anything and am so happy we listened to our gut and made our own decisions between the two of us.”

Katie + Kasra’s favorite memory from wedding planning was the “post toast” that they held after their rehearsal dinner. The two wanted to keep the rehearsal dinner as intimate as possibly with close family and friends. The post toast gave them the opportunity to open up the celebration with more friends and family and got the opportunity to have fun and celebrate with everyone in town, because the next day is just crazy hectic and you don’t have much time to talk to everyone.

Thank you so much for allowing the feather stone weddings team to be such a small part of your big day! We wish you guys the best in NYc and hope you come see us when you’re back in town!!

The Skinner's | Wedding Day

Meet the Skinner’s!!!

1,120 days or 120 degrees? Neither of these were going to put a damper on this couple’s special day!

The Feather Stone Wedding team had the privilege of being a part of Katherine and Justin’s special day on July 24, 2021.

Katherine and Justin had a very memorable day for several different reasons, but nevertheless it was nothing short of perfect! From waiting 1,120 days for their special day, to the Memphis heat, to no A/C at the reception (🥵🥵🥵), this couple didn’t let anything stand in their way!!

The ceremony was held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Memphis, TN! A traditional Catholic mass was held complete with a bagpiper!! How cool!! Following the ceremony, the couple and the guests headed to the Tower Center at Clark Tower only to be greeted by no A/C, but that didn’t stop friends and family from having a good time!!

Their vendors list was nothing short of amazing!! We might be biased, but photo and video were done by Feather Stone Weddings! The big ticket item, the dress, was by Eddy K and purchased at Maggie Louise in Collierville, Tn! A wedding day isn’t complete with a glam squad; Katherine hired Beauty by Brady and she did a BEAUTIFUL job!! To add to an already beautiful day, the flowers were by Heaslett Design Studios! The cakes were from Frost Bake Shop and the catering was by Wade & Company! Last, but certainly not least, the DJ was Justin from Deep Blu Entertainment. He understood the assignment when he played “Hot in Here” by Nelly!!

FSW-405.jpg

Katherine and Justin said their favorite part about being married is actually being able to call each other husband and wife after waiting so long! (1,120 days to be exact!!)

Wedding Planning Tip for Future Couples: “ Don’t let wedding planning consume your life; keep enjoying being engaged to the love of your life!”

We wish y’all the best and hope to be in touch over the coming years! We had so much fun shooting your wedding and I can say, it will be one day that I never forget!!!

Sydney + Connor | Engagement Session

Meet Sydney +  Connor!!!

Sydney and Connor joined the Feather Stone Wedding family back in September! We had the privilege of shooting their engagement session, which was an absolute blast!! They have a very sweet story and of course, I just wanted an excuse to share these BEAUTIFUL photos!!!

Their story began in 2013 when they first met, and then again in 2015 when they dated for a brief period before college, but officially again in 2020!! The couple reconnected when Sydney moved back home from college and have been inseparable ever since!!

Sydney and Connor dated for about a year and a half before getting engaged! The two went and looked at rings together back in June, and Connor purchased the perfect ring in August! In order to throw Sydney off, he told her it wouldn’t be ready for about 2 months. Little did she know, it would only take 2 weeks!!!

Connor popped the question while the pair enjoyed a picnic at a park in Harbor Town right alongside the Mississippi River!!!

Aside from planning their upcoming wedding, Sydney and Connor enjoy traveling, being out on the river, playing with their adorable dog, Archie, cooking together, and watching crime documentaries!!! (SAME!!!) Some of their favorite travel spots have been Nantucket, MA, Seattle, and of course, Disney World!!! Believe it or not, Sydney told us that Connor does most of the cooking while she sticks to baking desserts! The two are working on creating their life together and enjoying their time before they both start working at the family business this upcoming winter!!

We are so excited to be a part of Sydney and Connor’s special day! The big day is March 26. 2022 and the ceremony will be at The Jefferson in Oxford, MS. For now, enjoy these beautiful engagement photos!!!

Is it too early to start the wedding countdown…. I don’t think so!!

Dominica + Chase | Engagement Session

Meet dominica + Chase!!!

Dominica and Chase are such fun and energetic people. They truly light up every room they enter and both of their smiles are contagious! Malik and I had so much fun at theIR engagement shoot back in april and since their wedding date is quickly approaching, I thought I would share a little bit more about them!

Dominica and Chase met at a halloween party their freshman year of college, where Chase was dressed as a sorority girl! Both Chase and Dominica attended the University of Memphis (GTG 🐯). Staying friends throughout most of their time at Memphis, one night Dominica’s friend told her she should start dating golfers (🏌🏼‍♂️🏌🏼‍♂️🏌🏼‍♂️)! Unaware of the conversation, but impeccable with his timing, Chase texted Dominica 5 minutes later asking her what “the move” was for a typical college Thursday night.

“We ran into each other and the rest was history” - Dominica

The couple dated for 2 years before Chase dropped down onto one knee and popped the long-awaited question! What’s a couple’s story without the engagement… buckle up because this one is short but very sweet!!

The couple went to brunch for Chase’s birthday with his brother and sister-in-law. After brunch, his sister-in-law insisted they all take a walk along the Mississippi River since she isn’t from here. After walking for a little bit in the 90 degree November weather (Thanks Memphis! 🥵), Chase pulled the ring out of his pocket and said, “I told you this walk would be worth it!”

Obviously Dominica said yes and the wedding planning began!! Outside of planning their wedding together, Dominica and Chase enjoy cooking, dancing, going to concerts, taking their dog, Bogey, on walks, and bingeing Netflix together. The two just recently bought their first house together in High Point Terrace and are working towards making it theirs! Chase works as a golf professional at Memphis Country Club and Dominica is a 1st grade teacher at St. Ann Bartlett.

When I asked the couple what tips they had For newly engaged couples, Dominica said, “ Work together with your partner to plan things. It makes everything all the more special and takes some of the stress and decision making off the bride! Men have good taste too. 🤣🤣🤣

A fun fact about Dominica: She is insanely good at board and card games. 🃏🎲

A fun fact about Chase: He has a moderate to extreme hat addiction. 🧢

we are so excited to be a part of Dominica and chase’s wedding day on november 20, 2021. Their wedding ceremony will take place at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in bartlett, TN followed by their reception at the botanical gardens! Let the countdown begin!

The Hauser’s annual christmas photos

Yes, you read that correctly! We are talking about Christmas photos, but not just your average Christmas photos! The Hauser Family has been taking their photos to the next level for the past 15 years!

Whitney said the tradition began 15 years ago when she was trying to have studio photos taken of her boys (Richard and Andrew) taken in their Christmas pajamas! In true boy fashion, they wound up wrestling and rolling around on the floor. Instead of waiting for them to sit perfectly still, Whitney and the photographer decided to roll with it. The tradition of the themed and unconventional Christmas photos was born!

Over the past couple of years, we have had the privilege of capturing these special photos! Whitney, Richard, Andrew, and Alice Cate have done everything from overalls to renting tuxes and so many more fun themes!

2021 Theme

This year’s theme was a little different as Whitney’s oldest, Richard, is leaving for college! Richard will be attending San Diego State University starting this upcoming Fall! Since Richard will be so far away, these photos are extra special and highlight his accomplishment of starting a new phase of life!

Whitney said, “We feel lucky to have each other and have very tight family.  It’ll be hard to let our new college guy go but it’ll just make Christmas even more special this year!”

The Hauser’s favorite Christmas tradition is their themed family photos, but on Christmas morning they all wake up early to open their gifts and then head over to Whitney’s parents house to try celebrate as a family!

How fun are these photos!

When I asked them if we could have any hints as to what next year’s theme is going to be, they said they had thought about recreating their photo that was on the cover of Memphis Health + Fitness!

Stay tuned for what 2022 brings for the Annual Hauser Family Christmas Photos, but for now, enjoy this year’s!!!

We had so much fun at the shoot! The Hauser’s are full of laughter and love! Richard, we wish you the best first year at San Diego State University!

I guess it’s appropriate for me to end this with a Merry Christmas considering the content! 🎄🎅🏼

Addison + Alex | Engagement Session

Meet Addison + Alex!!!

Addison and Alex are such a fun couple whose smiles and laughs are truly contagious! We had so much fun at their engagement shoot and couldn’t wait to share their photos and their story!!

Addison and Alex both attended the University of Memphis. This is actually how they met! Addison was a freshman softball player and heard that a cute boy was coming for his official visit for baseball!

“Like most freshman softball players, we went to all the baseball parties ESPECIALLY when they had recruits in town so I was excited to see a friendly face at the upcoming party. Fast forward to that night, I was talking with some friends when a very tall, goofy guy peaked his head into the room. Without thought, I said, "Oh my gosh! Are you Alex Hicks?!" and the shock on his face was something that still makes me laugh even as I type this. The day after, there was another baseball party which ended in a romantic Snapchat exchange (lol) and the rest is history!” -Addison

The two have been together since and are going on 7 years together! But what’s a couple’s story without hearing how the engagement went down….

The two have been together since and are going on 7 years together! But what’s a couple’s story without hearing how the engagement went down….

“Alex told me that we had dinner reservations at Coastal Fish Company on a Thursday! We got there a little early to watch the sunset over the lake and walk around. As we were walking around the lake, our sweet dog Piper came running up to us with a metallic ribbon and a fake pink ring attached to her collar. Shocked, I started looking around and saw our immediate family pop out from behind some bushes. When I looked back at Alex, he was down on one knee, with my ring in his hand, and asked me to marry him. I always told him that he was going to have to give Piper a ring too when we got engaged (:”

There’s two things a girl loves most: her dog and diamonds! What better way to propose than with both!!! 💍🐶

Wedding Planning Tip from the (almost) Hicks:

Wedding planning can get very overwhelming, however, organization is definitely KEY to the process. This organization should start with sitting down with any family members, your significant other, and anyone else involved with the wedding planning process. This will allow everyone to get on the same page for the budget and goals for the wedding at the beginning stages of planning. After this initial meeting, create a master list and organize it by priority. If you look at the whole list it seems like a lot, however, if you dedicate one day to at least two different tasks on the list, the process is broken down and you start accomplishing tasks little by little.

In addition to planning their wedding, Addison and Alex keep a pretty busy schedule! Addison is a high school English teacher at Tipton Rosemark Academy and Alex is a scribe at OrthoSouth with hopes to pursue a career in orthopedic medicine! When they’re not working the couple enjoys traveling, watching movies, cooking, and their very favorite, going to country concerts!

Fun Fact about Alex: “I love to golf and last year I hit a hole-in-one!!”

Fun Fact about Addison: “I am an avid fangirl and seem to be in the right place at the right time for concerts. Over the years, I have finessed $30 meet and greet tickets to meet Justin Bieber, given a free wristband on the street to Blake Shelton's private concert in his bar in Nashville, watched Ariana Grande front row when I had nosebleed tickets, and a few others!!! “

We are so excited to be such a big part of Addison and Alex’s special day! The big day is October 23, 2021 at The Robinshaw!!

Meet Kate!

Kate is our marketing director here at Feather Stone Weddings and the face behind our social medias!! Kate began working for Feather Stone in March and our social medias have never looked better!!

When I asked Kate what her favorite aspect is about working at Feather Stone she said, “the people- both in the company and out. The positive office environment and outlooks on life make work fun!” Kate loves that the team pushes her to be a better person both in and out of work.

Kate graduated from the University of Memphis in May 2021 with a degree in Public Relations. She was born and raised here in Memphis, TN. When Kate she isn’t in the office, she enjoys working out at Iron Tribe Fitness (🏋🏼‍♀️), hanging out with her friends, and going to football games in the fall!! Some of her favorite things include: Instagram (naturally!!), sports, the color light blue, and her 2 dogs, Otis and Dolly (both of which she is allergic to! 🤧)!! Whether Kate is talking in her signature “Borat” voice or hard at work, she never fails to bring a smile to the office each and every day!

Kate Personality.jpg

While Kate runs our Instagram, Facebook, and TikToks during the week, she also posts “behind the scenes” footage on our stories during our wedding days! This is a really important detail that we focus on during our wedding days and it’s not as easy as it may seem!

“Social media and BTS on wedding days are super important. I feel like the brides get a taste of our content! The turnaround time for photos and videos is about 12 weeks so instead of waiting too long, they are able to see some sneaks the day of!” -Kate

Our goal is to make our brides and grooms feel special on their wedding days and also be able to highlight the work we are doing! By being active on our stories throughout the day, we are able to give small details that might otherwise be overlooked! It is also a way to include our followers on what a typical day for a wedding photographer/videographer is like! While Kate isn’t carrying around a camera at weddings, she is a huge part of making sure every little detail is highlighted!

Kate’s favorite thing about being a part of the wedding days is that she gets to see just how different each wedding is! She loves seeing how excited the bride and groom always are!

But, her all-time favorite moments at each wedding are the first looks, whether that be with the groom, the bridesmaids, or the father of the bride! These are such sweet moments and usually bring a tear to the eye. You can always find Kate wiping a tear or 2 away during these moments!
🥺🥺🥺

We are so so so thankful to have Kate as a part of our Feather Stone Wedding’s team! She does so much behind the scenes that we never want to let go unnoticed! So next time you see one of our beautiful photos on your timeline, just remember that Kate was the one behind it!

Wedding Tip from Kate:

“Give yourself time. It makes everything run a lot smoother when you have set aside more time for certain things. This allows you to be more than likely ahead of schedule.”

Julia + Cody Conway | The Most Perfect 2nd Wedding Day

Meet Julia and Cody!

Julia and Cody’s story starts all the way back in Kindergarten.  While they attended the same school growing up, the two became closer in the 2nd grade! Julia told a story about chasing Cody around on the playground. She was so focused on the cute boy in front of her that when he darted behind a bush, Julia didn’t see the giant mud puddle in front of her! She was sent home from school that day, but said she didn’t think she ever told her mom the real reason she was covered in mud! 🙈🙈🙈

Julia and Cody officially started dating freshman year of high school and continued dating for the next 8 years, throughout high school and college. On their 8 year anniversary, Cody planned out a full day of surprises that ended in the best surprise of all, a proposal!

So now that she had the ring, Julia began planning her dream wedding! Let’s skip forward to the most perfect day…

Julia and Cody, plagued by COVID-19, decided to have a private ceremony on March 23, 2020! But since every couple deserves their dream wedding, THEY HAD A SECOND WEDDING!

Julia and Cody said, “I think we’ve reached a conclusion. Everybody should have 2 weddings!!!”

After waiting for what seemed like forever, Julia and Cody had their dream wedding celebration on March 26, 2021 at Mallord’s Croft in Byhalia, MS. The day was perfect, complete with the most beautiful flowers by John Mark Enterprise, delicious food from the Pink Flamingo, and of course, a wedding cake by Frost Bakery. Julia looked radiant in her dress from Maggie Louise. Her hair was done by Madlen Joyner (@MadHairWizard) and her makeup was by Ashley Parsons (@makeupbyashley)!

FSW-291.jpg

When I asked Julia and Cody what their favorite memories from their wedding day were, they gave me the sweetest answers. *cue the tears*

Julia said, “My favorite memory was showing Cody my dress! Since our original wedding day was during COVID, I wore a little white dress that I already had in my closet. Finally putting on that stunning dress and having him turn around was so special! I felt like the prettiest girl in the world, and it just made it that much more special after having to postpone for over a year!”

Cody’s favorite memory was their first dance. The couple danced to “It’s Been a Long, Long Time” by Louis Armstrong, one of their favorites. Cody said this was such a special moment because “it had been a long, long time waiting to finally have a wedding.”

Tips for Future Brides & Grooms from the Conway’s!

“Pick one thing you want to spend your $$$$ on and GO FOR IT!! The other small details will come together and can always be DIY or budgeted. I’m not lying when I say, my biggest goal for our wedding was to have bomb photographers and videographers and BOY DID WE GET IT!!! Growing up, I’ve always loved the memory of family photos, so I knew that’s what I wanted to spend my money on when we started planning.”

Annie + Marshall | Surprise Engagement + Wedding Day

A real SURPRISE engagement!

Let’s talk about this proposal because it might be one of my favorite stories! When I asked Annie and Marshall about their engagement story, Annie replied, “ I always wanted my proposal to be a complete surprise and that it was!” So let’s get right into it…

The proposal involves everything from Chick-fil-A, to an eager “soon-to-be groom”, to Annie’s living room, and so much more in between. Let’s start at the beginning, June 2nd! Marshall had spent time planning out the perfect proposal! He had talked with Annie’s sisters, family, and friends and the proposal date had been set for June 4th. But, Marshall received a phone call from the jeweler saying the ring was actually ready 2 days early. HE DIDN’T WANT TO WAIT ANY LONGER!!

Marshall quickly called Annie’s family and told them, “I’M DOING IT RIGHT NOW!” Meanwhile, Annie is at her house hanging out with her sister and, as Annie puts it, “stuffing her face with Chick-fil-A!” (yummy!!) With ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis playing in the background, Marshall entered the house, dropped to one knee, and pulled out the ring asking Annie to marry him! Completely caught off-guard but very excited, Annie said YES!!!

And the rest was history… the wedding planning began!

Now let’s talk about their special day…. Annie and Marshall got married on December 4th at Orion Hill in Arlington, TN! The florals were done by Holliday Flowers and they were absolutely gorgeous. Annie’s dress was from Maggie Louise. Her hair was done by Peyton Lacy and makeup was done by Isabella Allen. It’s safe to say that Annie looked absolutely stunning!! The wedding cake was by Gracie’s Cakes and the catering was Draper’s. A group of vendors like these makes for the absolute best day!

A favorite date night spot for Annie and Marshall is either ordering takeout and watching a movie or enjoying a Dinner at Houston’s!

Annie and Marshall, we wish you guys the very best and are so thankful that we were able to be such a big part of your special day!!

Carter Wedding Day

Meet Lauren and Josh!! The sweetest and most genuine couple ever!! Lauren and Josh actually met in high school. Their algebra 2 teacher sat them next to each other and they quickly became friends! They were friends for about a year until things eventually blossomed into something more! Josh graduated a year before Lauren but went to The University of Memphis so that he could stay close to his girl! Once Lauren graduated, the two went on to Mississippi College together until Josh got a job in Memphis and then Lauren came to finish school at the U of M.

Josh proposed to Lauren at the beach while it was just the two of them! As Lauren says, “It was so private and perfect!!” Lauren and Josh continued to date for five and a half years before getting married!

Now let's talk about the wedding… Lauren and Josh got married on May 18th at Annesdale Mansion in Memphis, TN. The florals were done by Lynn Doyle Flowers and they were absolutely gorgeous! Lauren wore not only one dress from Maggie Louise but TWO! Her ceremony dress was Anne Barge and the reception dress was Amsale. Laurens' makeup was done by Kasey Acuff and Hair by Emily Cohen. Safe to say, Lauren looked absolutely beautiful all night long!! Kelly Ginn Photography also captured this beautiful day with us! The ceremony was set up outside and it started to sprinkle. Fifteen minutes before, there was a short rain shower, but all of the amazing vendors pulled together, wiped down the seats, and it was able to be held outside! Right after the ceremony ended the radar showed a huge storm coming in three minutes later. Everyone rushed inside and helped move things... Not even two minutes later the power went out for the rest of the night. With that being said, Lauren, Josh, and their parents had the best attitudes and still had the times of their lives!

Lauren is currently finishing her final year at The University of Memphis and getting ready to student teach at Dogwood Elementary in a special education resource classroom. Josh is a financial analyst at Smith & Nephew! The Carters are absolutely loving life together and FSW wishes them the absolute best!!

Horn Wedding Day

Everyone meet Kelcey and John!! We had the pleasure of capturing this beautiful couple's big day! John and Kelcey knew of each other in high school but never actually had the chance to get to know each other. During their Junior year of college, they met over Christmas Break. A group of friends went out and John asked Kelcey for her number!! They continued to talk and hang out with their friend group over the break. The break was finally over and John had to head back to Knoxville for school. Kelcey went to Ole Miss and she had a longer break than he did, so he asked her to come to visit! Kelcey went up with a friend and sure enough… John asked her to be his girlfriend!!!

John and Kelcey continued to do long distance for the next two and a half years, driving six and a half hours every chance they got! Kelcey says it was the hardest thing they ever had to do, but it made their communication stronger than most. They both moved back to Memphis in May of 2015. The two dated for a little over five years before John decided to pop the question!!

On Kelcey’s 2018 spring break, John and Kelcey took a trip to New Orleans to visit friends! John insisted that they went to this restaurant that his mom suggested. He told Kelcey that they had to sit in the courtyard because it was beautiful!! Unfortunately, it began to rain and they got sat right beside the band. It was super loud and John was being super quiet. Kelcey could tell that John was getting frustrated but she didn’t know exactly why. The sun started to shine and the sun came out so Kelcey suggested that they go sit in the courtyard. They sat and enjoyed a bottle of champagne together but John was still being quite. John said “hey do you want to go take a picture in front of the fountain? It is so pretty!” Kelcey looked over, saw others standing there to take pictures and replied, “Nah I’m good, I just want to chill.” So John shuts down again and Kelcey gives up. A few moments later, John looks Kelcey in the eyes and says “I can't wait any longer.” He reaches down in his rainjacket, pulls out a small box, and gets on one knee!!! John says all of the sweetest things, but as most, Kelcey was so nervous and doesn’t remember a thing! All she remembers is John saying “Kelcey will you marry me?” Kelcey asked about six times, “Are you serious?” but then proceeded to say YES!!!

Kelcey and John got married on June 1st at Annesdale Mansion in Memphis, TN and it was a beautiful day!!! We filmed this day alongside the Katie Norrid Photography team! Kelcey wore a stunning Paloma Blanca gown from Maggie Louise, and her makeup was done by Alicia Lee. She looked absolutely gorgeous and the two made our job so easy!! John was completely blown away by Kelcey when he saw her! Annesdale was decorated beautifully with flowers from Kamille Martin with BettsMade! The ceremony was so sweet and the reception was a real party!! Everyone enjoyed the cake by Cakes By Carolyn and the delicious food by CFY Catering! The Soul Shockers Band got everyone off of their feet to enjoy the bride and groom! Check out their highlight film below!

John and Kelcey are living life like newlyweds! The two just bought a house in the heart of East Memphis and are renovating! Kelcey is still teaching third grade at Farmington Elementary and John is working at Konica Minolta… did you know what that was? Us either… He provides Swing Vision for the PGA Tour, so that's awesome! They are traveling when they can and loving life together!!

Byers Wedding Day

Meet madison and Hunter Byer!! The sweetest couple ever! madison and Hunter both attended Collierville High School. They never really paid attention to each other in high school! Their paths did not cross until Hunter was a freshman at the University of Alabama and madison still a senior in high school. A mutual friend of theirs, Sarah Fowler, introduced the now love birds at a Collierville High School football game. (thank you, Sarah!!) Ever since that game, the two were inseparable. Hunter would take every chance he could get to come home and see his girl. madison now admits that she low key had a crush on Hunter all throughout high school (LOL!)

madison and Hunter continued to date for three and a half years. During this time, they both graduated from the University of Alabama in May of 2018. madison actually attended Ole Miss for her freshman year, but she could not stand being away from her “other half.” So, she then transferred to the University of Alabama in order to be with Hunter!! They frequently refer to each other as their “other half” (isn’t that the cutest ever??)

Now for the super sweet part - the proposal!! First, Hunter took madison out to a super nice dinner. Afterwards, he blindfolded her and told her to wait there. He then took her hand and led her to a certain spot. She had to count to sixty before she could take the blindfold off. When she looked up, rose petals covered the grass along with a picture of them hanging between two trees!! Hunter put so much work into it along with many other people who have impacted this sweet couple!

madison + Hunter tied the knot on July 21, 2018! It was an absolutely gorgeous wedding at The Jefferson in Oxford, ms! madison wore a stunning Hayley Paige wedding dress along with her makeup being done by La Rousse Salon and Spa in Oxford. The couple’s special day was filmed by Joe and Callie Cain. The wedding cake was from Frost while the floral vendor was Natural Creations "A Rare Find.” DJ Kevin Russell had so many people out on the dance floor having so much fun during the reception! Their special day was one to remember, for sure!!

madison now works for Magnolia Homes as a new home sales agent. Hunter works for CBRE as a leasing analyst! The Byers are currently loving life together!
