Tips & Tricks for the Best wedding day!!!
As your Wedding photographer or videographer, we want to make sure your wedding day is as special as it can be and that we get the most out of our time together!! We have compiled a list of tips, tricks, and recommendations to make sure your photos and videos are the very best!! Starting from getting ready….. all the way to the exit!! We are so excited to be working with you guys!
Let’s start with the big ticket item… THE DRESS!!
You’ve waited so long to wear this dress, so let’s make sure your photos of it are the BEST!!
We highly recommend you use wooden or satin hanger for your dress to hang on! Trust me!! We know how special a bride’s dress is to her and we want the photos to be just as special! You don’t want a plastic/wire hanger to be an eyesore in your photos!
Places to purchase: Etsy, Amazon, Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc.
Make sure both your dress and your veil are steamed as soon as you get to the venue, if needed!
bring on all the details!!!
WE recommend that you set all the details you want photographed aside before we arrive. it saves us time and ensures you get the most out of your coverage time!
make sure to save a copy of all of your invitations!
Ex: invitations, save the dates, seals, any and all things!!
Details can include anything and everything!!!
ex: shoes, perfume, garters, veil, invitations, koozies for reception, cufflinks, anything unique or special to you or your day!
please have all 3 rings!!!
Go ahead and have all 3 rings together and in their ring boxes! Don’t make us chase down the best man or the groom! We promise, the rings will get where they need to go before the ceremony!
Product tip:
To make sure your rings are super shiny, Consider purchasing a “diamond Dazzle” stick On AMazon!!
we want to photograph the things that are the most important to your special day!
nothing is too small! if it is important to you, it is important to us and we want to include it in your photos or video!
time to get ready!!!
#1 recommendation: make sure the room you are getting ready in is cleaned up before we arrive!
We don’t want a vera bradley bag or coke can in the background of your photos!
hair & makeup
when getting your hair and makeup done, we highly recommend facing a window, if possible!
If your venue doesn’t have a lot of natural light and you have one available, we recommend using a led ring light.
we recommend having as much natural light as possible!
Bridesmaids/Mother
If you are wanting to do a first look with your bridesmaids, we recommend that your bridesmaids are completely dressed before you get into your dress!
TIPS FROM A Feather Stone Bride
“Surround yourself with positivity on your wedding day. Of course, when you are picking vendors you want them to be able to provide the service YOU ARE WANTING, it TO look the way you are envisioning, and be in your price RANGE, but don't downplay the importance of their personality. When you are walking around the venue that morning looking at everything, getting your hair and makeup done, taking pictures, etc., you want the people around you to be happy, fun, AND uplifting. LET that energy be contagious!”
-Nicole Al-Ahmad
If you have a specific area you would like to use for your photos, we highly recommend that there is a window nearby!
Whoever is helping you get into your dress (mother, bridesmaid, mother-in-law, etc.) should be dressed and ready before you are getting in your dress!
Family Portraits
We recommend having a detailed list of family members (Names) that you want in each photo! this way we don’t have to guess who is who, and we can move through the family photos much faster!
You can email this to us before the wedding day!
Example:
Photo #5: Use actual names so we can just call them out!
